New Eclectic and Worthwhile Songs – August 14th, 2021

It’s a summer for Afrobeats! Everyone is doing wonders and pushing the limits of the genre with Wizkid and Tems’ Essence leading the march this week.  This song has so many inspiring song for everyone.

Wizkid, Tems, Justin Bieber – Essence Remix

Wizkid really outdid himself on this track.  Introducing Justin to track fans hasn’t gotten over yet! Kukuma kill us na.

Listening to this track gave me the feeling of eating juicy suya, with the suya juice splashing at the exact time Justin said “you don’t need no other body”

Oxlade – Ojuju

Off his upcoming Eclipse Ep, Oxlade peppered us with his beautiful vocals on this song for the lover boys.

Wurld- MWWU

A two tracked single (yea, you read that right).

Wurld took us back to the time we fell in love with his sexual lyrics and vocals. Think “Mad” with Sars, you get the picture now.

Omawumi – Love Deep High Life Album

What kind of album name is this? Well I ain’t surprised, it is our beautiful and talented Omawumi after all

10-tracked love-themed album featuring the likes of Brymo, Ric Hassani, Phyno and Waje. You would definitely find a song for your next romantic evening here.

Yemi Alade – Queendoncom Album

Queen don com album; I am sure you didn’t notice that in the album so I saved you the stress and brought it out for you. You are welcome.

This seven track slow paced album shows us a different music genius in Yemi. Beautiful lyrics coupled with great production makes this the best project for Yemi to announce herself Queen.

James Arthur – Avalanche

“I just never see it coming. Only butterflies until the bullets fly around my head again

James Arthur has a way of delivering poignant images in his lyrics. Avalanche has a melancholic tone, but it’s a beacon for those going through emotional darkness.

Aitch – GSD

“Spent this Money to live comfortably I don’t stunt for nuttin”

This track is all swagger and show off. But yeah, he deserves everything he has and more. He’d been grinding for some time.

It’s high time you reckoned that Aitch is one of the sickest lyricists in the UK with lovable, ice cold bars and delivery.

Vector- License

In the description of the video, VEC says “this song connects to the inner voice of happiness and joy as that is the only thing a man can hold on to, whether broken or whole. The music has a major pop and dancehall elements, that makes it appeal to the dancehall and Caribbean Island communities”

And truly, you can’t help but feel the happiness in the song.

Tofs – Bamise ft Seyi Vybez

Seyi Vybez is gradually becoming a sought after artist because of his vocals albeit in the realm of C-list, alté artists.

Looking for an inspirational, Sunday, prayerful track. Here it is.

Alessia Cara – The use in trying

Hold your halo and find your way home”

Many things make this song inspiring and powerful. It’s the vocals. It’s the lyrics. It’s the central message.

It’s the song to listen to when you’re down or confused.
