It’s all blazing songs on this week’s NEWS as the list features big dope artists like Olamide, Jcole, Elaine, KVO, 21 Savage and other worthwhile names from home and abroad.
Olamide – Rock
In anticipation for his 11th studio album, UY Scuti, Baddo releases this amazing alte tune he titles Rock.
This jam just shows how much of a versatile artist Olamide is. You already know it’s gonna be a dope album coming after this blazing jam🔥
“Ma lo fe broke nigga fight for you life
Roll with me make I blow you aza”
Olakira – 4Play Ep
The guy who got us all hopping in his Maserati back in 2020 is giving us some 4Play (let your mind wander)
A six track EP featuring the likes of Moonchild Sanelly, Zuchu and Sho Madjozi on some mid tempo danceable beats
This Ep as a 4Play is definitely sending my ear into eargasm.
Elaine – Right now
You got that annoying ex that keeps coming back every time? This is the song you should dedicate to them.
” Why did you lie? / Why did you f*uck with my feelings / why do you cry when I’m leaving? / Why can’t you see that I’m grieving the death of my love for you?
Great lyrics. Absolutely Worthwhile jam. Stunning artistry from a dope artist.
Elaine sings so effortlessly she makes music look like eating jollof. Lol. She’s definitely good to compete on a Global scale.
KVO – Odun
This guy is cute and hot mehn, guys keep your ladies away from him but not his song especially if your lady loves good sounds
Moreover if it seems your lady is only after your money, this is the perfect song to play her
“…As money no dey, you show your real face…shey when you tell me say you love me shey na lie…”
A mid-tempo song for all mood with heart-felt lyrics and great production.
Victor AD – Olofofo
Notice something on this track? Victor AD didn’t begin with his usual track. He plunges straight into the lyrics.
“Olofofo” is a Yoruba word that translates fo “rumour mongers”. On this Amapiano jam, Victor AD is saying he’s not moved by naysayers and those spreading negativity as he’ll keep being in their faces.
“…Nothing fih shake me again
I no never doke their father yansh
So what’s the problem again…”
Also, at the end, he borrows from the recent trend phrase “shedibalabala” 😂
Kida Kudz, Bella Shurmda – Ball till we fall
“We gon ball till we fall fall fall…”
A beautiful dancehall song featuring everyone’s current favourite Bella Shurmda to add some of his unique vibes to.
HMM Naija Remix
The African-descent New York Duo make another remix of their raving song. This time they link up with two of Nigerian finest young talents, Badboy Timz and Blaqbonez.
“Squeeze the beat & make it pause…African boys now untouched.”
Badboy Timz really did a number on this! He literally killed the beat like a badboy that he is!
Blaqbonez on the other hand cruised on this like it’s nuffin’
J Cole – The Off Season Album
When J Cole announced his album earlier this year, it sent waves of excitement all of the internet
And trust me when I say, the excitement ain’t for nothing
A 12 track album showcasing not only his prowess in rhyming and storytelling rap but also his improvement over the past year
“… I get up, dust my clothes off, sleep is the cousin of death
No plans to doze off, the streets, it don’t come with a ref’…”
Though it seems he threw some shots at some big rappers but who am I to initiate a rap battle
Olivia Rodrigo – Good 4 U
You just gotta notice how intentional Olivia Rodrigo is about her releases. From Driver’s License that talks about sadness to Déjà Vu which hammers on jealousy to this, you feel like she’s walking you through stages of break up.
“Good for you, you’re doing great our there without me, baby / God I wish that I could do that / I’ve lose my mind / I’ve spent the night / Crying on the floor of my bathroom / but you’re so unaffected I really don’t get it / but I guess Good 4 U
This sound gives off a vibe of a 2000s angry Disney break up song where the characters rages over the break up in the best way possible.
21 Savage – Spiral EP
The official soundtrack of the upcoming horror movie, Saw 9
Linking up with Young Thug, Gunna and Young Nudy amongst others, he made an almost perfect sinister rap EP which aligns well with the gruesomeness of the movie.
“Call me saw cause I laugh when I body shit”
