Hey! Something New: 69 Top Ten Songs of the Week.

Week ending 19th February 2020.

This week’s top ten songs came with a lot of Juice and spice, featuring veterans in the game – Pheelz, Sean Tizzle, Tula, and other dope collaborations straight outta Naija.

Ckay ft Amaarae – Show My Side

song of the week

I think Ckay took the challenge set by listeners that he can’t make a song that beats “Felony” a tad bit seriously. Because what is this magic? A beautiful flirty song made perfect by the soft strings played in the background and Amaarae vocals and flirty lyrics –

“…after dinner I’ll be putting you on my tongue

After dinner I’ll be putting you under my…”

WeTalkSounds ft Kemena – Soweto

69 top 10 songs of the week

“…She is not from Eko, Abuja or Canada

She is from Soweto…”

This has to be my favourite off the LOFN 4 album. You just gotta appreciate Kemena’s vocal and lyrical prowess as this song gives a vibe that you can’t help but nod along to.

Pheelz – Wayward Girl

After being behind the production of several hit songs, Mr Riddimahcoolayo decides to step into the music scene. Wayward Girl is the first track off his debut EP Hear Me Out.  Pheelz sure understands music and this effortlessly draws you in and holds your attention. You literally want to hear Mr. Producer out.

Joe El ft Zlatan and Davido – Epo

Missed Joe El? He’s back with a delectable sandwich of sounds! This is one mad collab. The delivery, lyrics and ad-libs from both Zlatan and Davido makes the song a potential hit!

WeTalkSounds ft Omotayo – Fallin

Can we have another valentine day this month because this song will make a romantic evening perfect. A mid-tempo love song which brings back memories of our beloved old blues. Best enjoyed “under sheets” with your partner.

Vector ft GoodGirl LA – Early Momo

Here is an enchanting love song with a sprinkle of sexual innuendos. Mid-tempo sound, following the steady instrumentals.  Another amazing collaboration to surface on the Nigerian music scene.

Tula – Okay

We said we can’t have an afro-trap genre?

Maybe they should listen to this beautiful afro-fused trap which highlights the hustling spirit of a young African.

WeTalkSounds ft Bunmi Africa – O for Orgasm

“… I screamed, I came.”

Sean Tizzle ft Wyclef Jean – For Me

After a long break from the Nigerian Music scene, Sean Tizzle resurfaces with a 4-track EP. Off the EP is this impressive collaboration with Grammy Award-winning rapper and Musician, Wyclef Jean. The vocals and harmony in this collab just make you want to fall in love.

Blaqbonez ft Tiwa Savage – BBC (remix)

This is one of those remixes that push one to appreciate the original music. Tiwa’s versatility is undeniable. Her ability to add to the quality of any track she jumps on is top-notch. On this remix, she compliments Blaqbonez’s already dope jam to make it magic!
