New Eclectic and Worthwhile Songs – May 1st, 2021
On this week’s NEWS, it’s dope singles and album left and right. There are Grammy winners on the list too. From Naija and out nobody is left out of this this race to satisfy the fans.
Blaqbonez – Sex Over Love album
Blaqbonez owned this album, echoing the average Nigerian youth thoughts on relationships
“Saw my old bitches and I fucked her but that pussy is average”
Sorry I forgot to mention, this album is for 18+ (lol). Beautiful rhythms, hard lyrics and beautiful features (Nasty C is on this)
Laycon – Shall We Begin album
This is for those who were starting to doubt Laycon abilities
“I wouldn’t say nobody saw me coming, you all did but you ignored the flows…”
With features from Mayorkun, Joeboy, Teni, Terri and YKB, Laycon killed all doubters with this album
“Listen good, this is God talking”
Ajebutter – King of Parole
“I am the minister of faji, the king of parole”
Imagine the Nigeria alte on amapiano beats
Doesn’t sound sensible ba, but listen to this and you will know how beautiful it is
Ajebutter showed his versatility with his sound on this without sacrificing his lyrical genius, definitely one you don’t want to miss out on
M.anifest – Confusion
“A life is a puzzle when they left you no clues”
I wish I can quote all the bars on this track here
Fam, I am sure the studio caught fire while this track was been recorded (sounds cliche I know but this track ain’t, trust me)
“Little girl alone on the see saw, I dey wonder wetin she saw…”
Dj Khaled – Khaled Khaled album
“The devil on the block and he lurking
Tryna hit me up with a dozen
But when I look around she ain’t worth it”
A 14 track album of “We the best Music” Dj Khaled
Man, how much we have missed him. With features with the likes of Justin Bieber, Drake, Post Malone, Cardi B, Lil Wayne amongst others
You already know this is going to be magical
Yonda – Ti Were Bo
One thing Synonymous to Yonda is Vibes. He carries in it in every of his song. Dropped in two versions— the afro danceable version and the chilly version— Ti Were Bo isn’t short of vibes.
Billie Eilish- Your Power
“She said you were a hero / you played tht part / but you ruined her in a year / don’t act like it was hard / and you swear you didn’t know…”
In this song, Billie subtly talks about her experience with an abusive relationship. As usual, a melancholic melody with artistic visuals to compliment.
Justin Skye – Twisted Fantasy ft Rema
“How come sh*t could never be consistent…/ What happened to the vibing boy, you killed it”
You’re already dancing to this song before your find out that it’s supposed to be a sad song about a toxic relationship. That just makes it more interesting to listen to. Really twisted.
You just gotta love how Justin Skye carries her patois side in all her music. And Rema, pure talent.
Adekunle Gold – It Is What It Is
“money no dey bring happiness / na when I get money I realize…”
Pure afro masterclass. That’s what this is. Moving away from the powerful lyrics, the visuals is the dopest thing to surface on the music scene in April.
Burna Boy- Kilometre
After clinching the Grammy award, this track comes as a subtle reminder to fans and doubters alike that Burna isn’t new to the game. He’s literally telling us he’s come a long way to get here.
